Sony Xperia Z vs HTC One

These are just the early months of the year 2013. And as we all are aware that these early months of 2013 have been one of the hottest months in the smartphone market. As a matter of fact, we have already seen a lot of flagships from all the best manufacturers of Android (to be specific). And apart from Android, we have also seen a great hit from RIM, the Blackberry Z10.

However, today, we have compared one of the two major Android devices, the HTC One and the Sony Xperia Z. Which means that after reading the script further, you will be discovering that which device is better – Sony Xperia Z or the HTC One.

Sony Xperia Z vs HTC One

1. Processor

We will first be looking at the processor of the HTC One and the Sony Xperia Z. The HTC One has an impressive 1.7 GHz processor with 4 cores (quad-core), and this type of processor will indeed give you fast and accurate user experience. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z has a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor which will also provide its user fast and fluent user experience. So the thing is that the Sony Xperia Z is only slightly behind the HTC One over here, however, it is also worth adding that Sony Xperia Z can’t be criticized on this point.

2. RAM

Now let us come to the ram of these devices – the HTC One has a RAM of 2GB and same is the case with the Sony Xperia Z as it also encloses a 2 GB RAM behind its aluminium covers.

3. Screen Size and Pixel Density

Up till now, the HTC One is one step ahead of the Sony Xperia Z however; there will be a few ups and downs in the lead over here. The screen size of the HTC One is 4.7 inch and the screen size of the Xperia Z is 5 inch. This means that the Sony Xperia Z has drawn the lead gained by HTC One lately. But, here comes the sad part again for the Sony Xperia Z lovers because the Pixel density of the HTC One (469ppi) is greater than the pixel density of the Sony Xperia Z (441ppi). So as a footnote to this field, I would like to add that the HTC One is again on a 1-0 lead from the Xperia Z.

4. Camera

Now here comes one of the most (perhaps) awaited part of the comparison because Camera battles between smartphones are hot off the press these days. So coming back to the point now – the HTC One has a 4 MP rear facing camera and the Sony Xperia Z has a 13.1 Mega Pixel rear-facing Camera, so it can now be said that the Sony Xperia Z has again cancelled out the lead of the HTC One.

5. Internal Memory

Although the competition is at the moment at an equal stage but internal memory will somewhat change it. The Xperia Z has 16 GB version available only where as the HTC One is again getting the lead by having a choice of 32 GB and 64 GB version.

Results

This was a tough comparison, Both the smartphones were good and have different plus points. However both of them have some limitations too, The phrase Nobody is perfect applies here, Now you have to choose which one suits you more, Some people will go for Xperia Z while some will be happy with HTC One, No matter what device you choose, The thing which matters is that you are fully satisfied with it. By posting comparisions, We only intend to point out the advantages and disadvantages of the devices. So I don't think picking a winner is important.

Just to make things simple, I'm again pointing out some of the best and worst features of these devices.

Sony Xperia Z

  • 1.5GHz Quad Core, 2GB RAM
  • 5 inch Display (~441ppi)
  • 13.1 Megapixel Camera
  • Water resistant (upto 30 minutes in 1 meter)
HTC One

  • 1.7GHz Quad Core, 2GB RAM
  • 4.7 inch Display (469ppi)
  • 4 Megapixel Camera

However If I have to choose any of these devices then I will definitely go for Sony Xperia Z and the reason is that it suits me and I'll be satisfied with it. Now it's your call
